Forgetaboutit…

Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

There is a saying out there that “Perception is Reality”… I say… “If you believe this, you need your head examined! By someone who will speak the truth in love to you… “Sweetie, you are wrong!”

Perception is your imagination telling you what you see. Perception is your brain believing what you imagine you see. Perception is an attempt to block the reality that just isn’t what you want it to be.

Reality is, according to the dictionary on my laptop, the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them: … existence that is absolute, self-sufficient, or objective, and not subject to human decisions or conventions.

Reality is, whether you believe it or not, TRUTH… and TRUTH does not change to fit us and our world. In order to be at peace in this world, we must change to fit the TRUTH. We must come to terms with REALITY!

We must come to terms with the only reality that fits the definition, an existence that is absolute, self-sufficient, or objective, and not subject to human decisions or conventions.

God is the ONLY one who completely embodies the truth… and… NEVER changes!

Exodus 3: 14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’

We also must come to terms with the ramifications of this truth, of this REALITY… WE ARE  NOT god!

This is the idea behind the Perception Is Reality crowd… WE determine our reality. WE can change our reality by changing our perception. WE can… if we believe hard enough! Yessiree… tap those red high heels together and say with me… “I am in control, I am in control, I am in… an insane asylum…”

Do you ever wonder why you have no peace? It’s because you believe you are IN CONTROL of your reality. And deep down you know… you are no wizard… and the yellow brick road is leading to hell where you will always be immersed in the lie.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Some people imagine that they can walk the fence… pretending to give control to God while remaining on the throne… determining what God means, what God wants, what God says… and most of all judging God through the filter of man’s desires. They claim reality, but again it is just a figment of their own imagination. They “imagine” that God would do only and exactly what they themselves would agree to. Any deviation from that causes them to rethink their thoughts on the existence and/or purposes of God.

Definitely not a body at rest… at peace… a body who must remain hyper vigilant to all threats that would bring doubt to his/her PERCEIVED reality.

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS, for My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

To have peace, even in the midst of chaos… to have rest, even when our physical plates are full… to be free from the fear of all I can imagine…

FORGETABOUTIT… forget your imagined reality and reach forward to the truth which IS the future.

Press on toward the goal… John 8:32… You shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Like rebellious children, we can stomp our feet, continue to yell our demands, cry, scream, turn our back on all that is holy… and yet… none of that will change the facts. No matter how many ways we spin the story, or how many people we convince that our spin is true, reality is not changed.

Romans 8:18-25 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body. For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

FORGET ABOUT what you imagined your world to be and wait eagerly for the real REALITY!

Replace your perception with Jesus!

HE IS REAL!
